The Canadian Partnership Against Cancer hosted its first stakeholder forum, Momentum: Cancer Control in Action, July 7-8, 2009 in Toronto. Entering the third year of our initial five year mandate, the forum represented a key step in strengthening the momentum of our work in cancer control and its impact on Canadians. Participants saw the breadth and depth of Canada’s cancer control strategy, and explored new collaborations that will further advance current initiatives. Forum participants included clinicians, professional associations, patients/patient groups, cancer agencies, health ministries, federal agencies, and other national organizations.
The Partnership is a facilitator in advancing Canada’s cancer control strategy. Collaboration with cancer control stakeholders is essential to our progress as we all own implementation of the strategy and have shared ownership in its sustainability.
