There are many highly skilled health professions involved in cancer control and care.
As the burden of cancer continues to grow we need to make the best use of our resources, prepare for the future and ensure that a strong workforce is available to support Canadians. This includes exploring innovative ways of delivering high-quality care.
Addressing cancer workforce issues—from prevention through screening, diagnosis, treatment and supportive care to end-of-life care or survivorship—is an important part of the Canadian strategy for cancer control.
As part of its mandate to accelerate implementation of that strategy, the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer is working with partners across the cancer control community to help fill gaps in knowledge and support the wider use of successful innovations in the delivery of cancer control.
