Cancer control spans prevention, screening, guidelines and standards, data gathering, and research, as well as treatment and supportive care. It involves patients and families and the cancer workforce.
Cancer control is broader than cancer care in that it involves the entire population through prevention, screening and education – not only those who have been diagnosed with cancer and are being treated within the cancer care system.
