About this Policy
Cancer View Canada’s Collaborative Group Spaces is a place that enables the sharing of ideas and collaboration on projects in a secure, password-protected environment. Building and using collaborative Group Spaces allow users to leverage expertise, reduce duplication of effort, diffuse innovation, reduce variability, and increase capacity. We are committed to supporting our users providing a safe and secure environment in which users can freely communicate and collaborate for their purposes.
Users must abide by Cancer View Canada’s existing policies including the Terms of Use. In addition, this Acceptable Use Policy states conditions that users also agree to accept when using Cancer View Canada’s Collaborative Group Spaces.
Content
Collaborative Group Space users should behave in a considerate manner treating other users with respect and courtesy. Social and ethical corporate policy should extend to the online environment. Material posted should not be:
Illegal (pornography, privacy violations, fraudulent information)
Unethical (exclusionary, misrepresentative, violent, discriminative, racist)
Inappropriate (vulgar, derogatory, aggressive, profane)
Unproductive (stifling, manipulating, dominating, bullying, blocking)
Advertising material such as spam, junk mail, chain letters, or unsolicited bulk e-mail should not be posted. However, promotional information such as notice of events, conferences, courses, or publications are acceptable if relevant to the purposes of the Collaborative Group Space.
Collaborative Group Space users agree that their Group Space Moderator will have complete discretion to decide whether material breaches this section or all other conditions of the Acceptable Use Policy. Moderators of each Collaborative Group Space have the right to develop additional guidelines for their purposes which are consistent to this policy which users must follow.
Users understand that all posted content such as messages, texts, images, or documents are the sole responsibility of the user whom the content originated. Furthermore, information, views, and resource links reflect the personal and professional interests of the Group Space members themselves and not the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer.
False or Fraudulent Information
Users must not provide misleading identity information such as false details when registering for their Collaborative Group Space.
Copyright
Users will own the copyright of any material they contribute to their Collaborative Group Space. All users are required to abide by Canadian and foreign copyright laws. Privacy
Collaborative Group Space users must respect the privacy of others as other users have contributed information purposefully and solely for the use within the Collaborative Group Space. Users consent to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information as described in the Cancer View Canada Privacy Policy. Furthermore, users must also abide by the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
Security
We have adopted reasonable security measures in an effort to protect personal information from loss, misuse or alteration while it is under our custody and control. We use technical, contractual, administrative and physical measures to protect against unauthorized access.
Other than limited access by the Partnership and contracted suppliers in order to carry out account administration functions as described above, the personal information you create in your profile is accessible only by you using your user name and password. To protect the integrity of your profile, you must keep your password confidential. You are responsible for all uses of Cancer View Canada by anyone using your password.
Actions that compromise the security of the Collaborative Group Space must be avoided such as hacking, corrupting and destroying data, and intentional introduction of viruses.
Violation of this Policy
Collaborative Group Space users may contact us to report any breach of the Acceptable Use Policy. We reserve the right to record, monitor, and investigate access to Group Space services by all users, as part of the normal course of operations. Violations will be approached on a case-to-case basis and we reserve the right to take action deemed appropriate such as discussing the matter with the individual concerned, removal of offensive material, suspension of membership, informing parent organization, and etc.
Liability
We will not accept any legal liability for the information provided and/or actions of Collaborative Group Space users. We do not assume any legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any information, drugs, therapies, treatments, products, processes, or services disclosed. The information is provided “as is” and users are urged to verify it for themselves
Changes to the Acceptable Use Policy
The Partnership regularly reviews all of its policies and procedures and may change the Acceptable Use Policy. Users will be notified of any changes and are expected to comply.
