An expert panel was convened in 2011 to review and summarize available evidence on screening for ovarian cancer. The expert panel concluded that the evidence to date has not demonstrated that ovarian cancer screening reduces mortality from ovarian cancer.
A summary of the existing and new evidence regarding ovarian cancer screening as of 2011 is detailed in the report below. Subsequent updates to this report were completed in 2016 (see Related documents, below).
The expert panel will continue to monitor and review trial evidence as it becomes available.
